I always think of my current phase of life as a mid-life crisis. The world is going thru economic slowdown, everyone is crying for a job. Nothing looks sunny. You get more disappointment than achievement. Sorry that I always think glass is half empty. I am not happy with what I am now, and I am constantly worrying about my future.
Getting a job has been my top priority, nothing can stop me to get a job...I am feeling down today because of rejection again. Although I am expecting the rejection, I was actually still hoping for the last bit of hope...But I guess I am not lucky. Sometimes, I can't stop hating those companies rejecting me. I swear that I will beat them in the future. I guess stress has caused me to think in this way...No one or nothing can console me other than watching Korean drama "Love Letter" and listening to the soundtrack...

Grrr Hendi.... u don't allow anonymous comments ... :P Hey, you know something interesting? I see you as somebody who's successful, I guess the way you present yourself to other ppl.. sometimes I got kind of sad and down after I talk to you, because you are so focused on jobs and achievements and such, and it made me think that my own achievements is not that many... and kind of dim compared to yours.. then again I thought, well, my purpose of life is different than yours (For sure, I am NOT looking for a wife :P ) I guess as long as we keep on focusing on the purpose of our life, and we know that we're still on track on getting there, we will be strengthened to keep going on fighting the fight.. Focusing on the goal, and to borrow from a bible scripture, "The throne of victory" at the end of the race will keep you going despite all the bruises that you got from the race. I guess the final note is that we need to make sure that our final victory is a real victory, not just some illusion that we created.
Hen, think about your job situation this way... You know that you are a great employee, you are the one who knows your strengths the best, and your advisors like you and they even wanted you to get a PhD to keep working for them, hence, it proves that you are a great employee. Yes, several companies rejected you, but there are several who invited you for 2nd round too.. Think about it in a statistical way:
1. You are a great employee -> Somebody wants to employ you
2. You got a bunch of companies interested in you -> Statistically, there would be some who would hire you
At least that's how John Harder sees his job search. :)
Have a good day Hen!!
