Just came back from London Ontario. I was there since Monday for AMT 2004 conference. The conference is ok, not too bad...I have kinda lost interest in research at this moment. I can't imagine why people are so eager to get PhD. I think I am not going to do PhD next year.

In one of the lunch events during the conference, one guy commented that flexible/reconfigurable manufacturing is an overkill. He made this comment after hearing a GM research engineer mentioning that GM plant had to stop for 5 hours when thing broke down. The guy said that it was highly possible that the reconfigurable/flexible line that GM has is not stable, causing too much trouble. Anyway, so much talk about research...

During this conference trip, I realized that it wasn't fun to go for conference alone. I had to eat dinner alone in an alien town. No fun at all...No one to talk to while I was waiting for the food to come out. This added to my belief that I shouldn't do PhD.

I am going to look into more business related work, probably business consulting specialized in manufacturing. Gotta be a stable guy financially, before finding the one...hehehe.
I guess I don't have much time to establish myself in business world. I gotta work harder and harder in smart way, as work hard with no useful result is the same as not working.

I was distracted lately. Can't concentrate...Well, I hope I can overcome it soon. That's it for today.
